Window Seat

11” x 14” Oil on canvas

Window Seat is based on a visit to a new diner for breakfast. I’ve always been interested in the visual details that make diners distinct. The stacked cups, patterned plates, counter seating, and the way light reflects off simple surfaces.

This piece focuses on the quiet moment of sitting by the window and taking in the space. The composition emphasizes structure and light, balancing observation with bold and expressive color and brushwork. Painted from a photo taken at The Daisy Cafe, this work continues my interest in documenting ordinary experiences and translating them into intentional, composed images.

The original is available in my shop!
