Top Down Perspective

8” x 10” Oil on canvas

The composition is cropped close — a blue teapot, a partially seen plate, and a cup of tea left behind on a pale yellow striped tablecloth. I was drawn to the way familiar objects can suggest comfort and presence without needing a figure in the frame. The lighting is warm and intentional, creating a sense of ease and quiet pause. By focusing on food and drink in this intimate way, I’m continuing my interest in how everyday rituals offer care and familiarity even in the smallest moments.
