trailcat (Two)

24” x 36” Oil on canvas

This painting captures a quick stop during a bike ride, when a neighborhood cat—tag reading “Charlie”—climbed right up onto a cyclist’s knee for attention. Helmet still on, bike leaning in the background, she bent down to say hello, and he crawled right up to meet her.

The street was quiet and open. It was just one of those unexpected moments worth pausing for. Playful, warm, and a little silly. A reminder that even in motion, it’s okay to stop for a cat.
