Brunch Ride

This piece is from a diner table after a long bike ride with friends — a ride we called “brunch ride.” It went long enough that brunch turned into late lunch, but it was never really about the food anyway.

Pinks and a bright red underpainting echo the flowers on the table, and the bright Sunday sky shines against the black grate of the patio table. Another quiet table scene — a pause after movement, coffee poured and plates on the way.
