The Red French Press
The Red French Press
Oil on canvas
12 × 12 inches
The Red French Press is part of a small thing I’ve been trying to do at my favorite coffee shop—get a different color french press each time. This only really works on days when I’m with someone else, since it’s 32 ounces of coffee. So it ends up tied to specific hangouts and conversations as much as the object itself.
This is the second one I’ve painted, after a teal version. I used oil sticks for this, which is a newer material for me and changes how I build up color and texture compared to my usual process.
