Single Swap

Single Swap was inspired by afternoons spent at Cafe Blue, claiming the chess table and playing lots of cards over coffee. The title comes from people trading rare casino cards one at a time rather than buying or selling entire decks. While painting, I leaned into the purples, yellows, and blues found in my reference photo. This piece was one of my favorites to work on, and I enjoyed building up the layers of color and pattern across the table and cards.
