This work shows my interest in structure and shadow of an object. While drinking my coffee, I was struck by the shape and color of the cup and the shadow it was casting on the table. Moments like this often determine what I choose to paint — small details that unexpectedly hold my attention and make me pause long enough to wonder why they feel significant.
