This painting was inspired by the biscuits at Camber Coffee, a place I often visit on slow mornings to read or draw. While painting, I experimented with warm yellow highlights and cool purple shadows. I also used a palette knife throughout the piece, using its texture to emphasize the flaky surfaces of the biscuit and add some movement to the piece.
